The Nashville Predators are a professional ice hockey team based in Nashville, Tennessee. They are members of the Central Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League. When the team is playing at home they play at Bridgestone Arena is an all-purpose venue in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, that was completed in 1996. Although Professional Hockey is rather new to Nashville it has quickly become a favorite of many Nashvillians, and when the Preds are in town Nashville becomes Smashville.
